Josh Martin Posted December 19, 2011 at 10:57 PM Report Share Posted December 19, 2011 at 10:57 PM Also - no longer is it easy to go BACK to the discussion. I read a post and want to go back to the list of posts - and I can't figure out HOW.Just hitting the "return" key isn't working. (on a Mac). There are appropriate links for this just above the first post and just below the last post on the page. At the top, there should be a "path" of links. For instance, for this thread, the path is "RONR Forum -> RONR Discussion Board -> Questions or Comments about the Message Board." The first link will return you to the main page for the forum, the second will return you to the list of forums, and the third will take you to the list of threads in this forum. At the bottom, the link is "Back to Questions or Comments about the Message Board," which will return you to the list of threads in this forum. Naturally, if you are in another forum the link will be replaced with the title of that forum.
JayW Posted December 20, 2011 at 07:06 PM Report Share Posted December 20, 2011 at 07:06 PM Just hitting the "return" key isn't working. (on a Mac).Try using the "Backspace" or "Delete" keys. Depending on the browser, you may be able to option-click (right-click) and choose "Back", or use the left arrow at the top of the browser. jstackpo Posted December 23, 2011 at 10:15 PM Report Share Posted December 23, 2011 at 10:15 PM The left-pointing arrowhead works fine on my browser -- Firefox (which all should use - free, too) -- on my Desktop Mac.

David A Foulkes Posted December 4, 2012 at 03:28 PM Report Share Posted December 4, 2012 at 03:28 PM I gather, from your question, that guests are not.Correct. Only registered members have the ability to send a "private message" to other registered members. There is a "Send a Message" button on each member's profile page. Each member can disable this feature on their profile page as well, as part of their individual "privacy" settings.
George Mervosh Posted December 4, 2012 at 04:08 PM Report Share Posted December 4, 2012 at 04:08 PM Though you might want to make sure, Guest_Gary, that those you send messages to for opinions wish to receive those messages first?

Gary Novosielski Posted December 6, 2012 at 02:47 AM Report Share Posted December 6, 2012 at 02:47 AM Yes, first send a message asking if they wish to receive messages.Well, before you do that, you might want to send a preliminary message, asking if they accept messages about receiving future messages. Gary c Tesser Posted December 25, 2012 at 12:32 AM Report Share Posted December 25, 2012 at 12:32 AM I trust that the facetious responses do not mean to obscure GM III's point about "for opinions."I also suspect that most regular participants have not noticed these new posts to an old thread on a specialized branch of the forum. Something must be done. I request a board meeting.

How could anyone not notice?
Gary c Tesser Posted December 25, 2012 at 05:19 AM Report Share Posted December 25, 2012 at 05:19 AM Wups. Some other button I would have done well do have pressed. "View New Content," eh? How long it's been around, you figure?:-)________N.B. I explain jokes sometimes. Yes I have never engaged the "View New Content" button. Yes I acknowledge I would have been better off if I had. Yes I figure Guest_Edgar understood and used it right off. No, I don't expect this 19th-century computer here to be particularly accommodating, which is why I didn't trouble it to look at tinkerings like this newfangled American "View New Content" button. My best to everyone. There's a thread over on the Auspicious Pronouncements branch I see, started by GPN.I still want a board meeting.
