problems signing in

Apologies for posting this, but I am having big problems signing in, and there is no link to help out with this. Last time around the site told me my account would be released in 10 minutes, 30 minutes later, nada. It's hard enough trying to get the security check thing to work, with luck I'll be able to do it this time before my dinner burns. I know this has been a problem in the past with other people, am wondering why it hasn't been corrected. A big part of the deal is the difference between caps and lower case. Ironic that in a previous life I was a typographic designer.

Guest Nancy, We can talk to the forum vendor about Captcha trial 6. We are limited to what they offer though. Also, we have tried different "flavors" of Captcha, and we immediately open a flood gate for the spammers. In order to keep the forum primarily about parliamentary procedure and not so much about where to click to get dubious prescriptions, we have to keep the Captcha that we currently have. When the forum vendor offers other options we will definitiely give them a try.

With all due respect, the purpose of a CAPTCHA code is to prevent automated (i.e. non-human spambots) from accessing the forum. It should not be so onerous that only those most desperately in need of parliamentary advice will be willing to suffer through the half-dozen (or more) attempts it takes to crack the code. If a Viagra salesman happens to slip through, it's the Administrator's responsibility to kick them out.

How about a one-week (48 hours?) trial of reCAPTCHA so we can all see just how many miscreants are crashing the party?
