Guest Travis Posted June 12, 2014 at 05:12 AM Report Share Posted June 12, 2014 at 05:12 AM Can the Chairman of the board allow advisors to speak at a board meeting or is a vote required by the board to approve the advisor, assuming the bylaws do not dis-allow it? Gary c Tesser Posted June 12, 2014 at 06:46 AM Report Share Posted June 12, 2014 at 06:46 AM It is definitely not the chairman's call, as it is the board's meeting room, not his. But in practical terms, he can streamline the process, as with most processes, by asking the board for general consent; and, hearing no objection, he can then proceed to let the advisor (or anyone else) speak (without the lengthier procedure of taking a vote).
