Guest Christina Posted November 26, 2014 at 04:55 PM Report Share Posted November 26, 2014 at 04:55 PM Good Morning Everyone! If an individual holds duel membership in an organization, and pays duel membership fees/dues, does that individual get to cast 2 votes in an election? Richard Brown Posted November 26, 2014 at 05:06 PM Report Share Posted November 26, 2014 at 05:06 PM Not unless your bylaws authorize it. He/she is still one member, although perhaps paying double dues. Question: Why do you authorize dual memberships for one person?
Guest Christina Posted November 26, 2014 at 05:22 PM Report Share Posted November 26, 2014 at 05:22 PM We are a non-profit organization that does a lot of theatrical performances to raise money. This individual paid dues to be a member on our "Male Line" and also paid dues to be a member (with his theatrical name) on our "Female Line"

This individual paid dues to be a member on our "Male Line" and also paid dues to be a member (with his theatrical name) on our "Female Line" Well, if nothing else, I think that's a "first" for this humble forum. I suppose I'd tell him he can make all the donations he wants but if he's already a member, he can't become a member again. But they're your rules. Hieu H. Huynh Posted November 26, 2014 at 05:39 PM Report Share Posted November 26, 2014 at 05:39 PM If an individual holds duel membership in an organization, and pays duel membership fees/dues, does that individual get to cast 2 votes in an election? RONR is based on "one person, one vote." Only your rules could provide otherwise. The answer to your question will have to be found in your organization's bylaws. Bruce Lages Posted November 26, 2014 at 09:11 PM Report Share Posted November 26, 2014 at 09:11 PM Perhaps the 'duel' membership has something to do with how often a member gets to sword fight or carry dueling pistols in their theatrical productions?
