Guest Kim Posted April 13, 2015 at 08:13 PM Report Share Posted April 13, 2015 at 08:13 PM Hi! We have a small advisory committee that tries to follow the rules--mostly on motions and voting. My question is if we had a motion voted on with 6 yes and 1 opposed, in the notes do we name names? There's been some discussion that according to Roberts if we have an opposed, we have to listed the name of the person who voted opposed. We do have a video and audio of the meeting. Thanks!Kim

That is not a rule in RONR. You might ask the person(s) who claim it is to show you where it is. They'll have no luck. If there were a roll-call vote the procedure would be different, but I'm assuming there was not.
Guest Kim Posted April 13, 2015 at 08:50 PM Report Share Posted April 13, 2015 at 08:50 PM Hi 1st Church, I didn't think she could as I'm not an expert but I've never heard of it so I thought I'd ask the real experts here. No roll-call vote. Thanks!Kim
Tom Coronite Posted April 13, 2015 at 10:28 PM Report Share Posted April 13, 2015 at 10:28 PM By all means wait for one of the experts to weigh in, for I am certainly not one. But in the meantime I am confident you are on solid ground with the "prove it, show me" strategy.
