Acceptable Wording for a Motion

I would say neither is appropriate. If the situation is a recent increase in dues that is opposed, you move to take action against that increase by rescinding or amending something previously adopted, or if it was a bylaw change, to amend the bylaws again. If the situation is a proposal to increase the dues, you speak against it in debate when it is pending.

I would say both statements/questions are awkward.  One is taking a position against something that has already happened and the other is taking a position on something that is proposed.   And if it is the organization itself that is proposing to raise dues (or has already raised its own dues), both statements are even more, well, absurd....the members either vote for or against the dues increase.

You need to come up with better examples...with both examples referring to the same situation.
