Guest ParliPro Posted February 6, 2016 at 01:17 AM Report Share Posted February 6, 2016 at 01:17 AM What kinds of technicalities are applicable to a preamble when considering by paragraph or seriatim. This is briefly addresed in Robert's Rules pages 278-279 but it does not give specifics. Are there any details I am missing?
Guest ParliPro Posted February 6, 2016 at 01:19 AM Report Share Posted February 6, 2016 at 01:19 AM To further clarify, does this mean that the preamble is voted on after all other parts are considered? Does this also mean that regardless of how many paragraphs are in the preamble, they are considered altogether?

The preamble may be amended after amendments to the resolution have been disposed of, but it is not voted on separately from the resolution itself. When the process of seriatim consideration of both the resolution and the preamble has been concluded, a single vote is taken on the entire document. 10 hours ago, Guest ParliPro said: Does this also mean that regardless of how many paragraphs are in the preamble, they are considered altogether? No. If the preamble consists of more than a single paragraph, it too should be considered seriatim.
