Following up on questions

3 posts in this topic

I  have asked a question and gotten an answer back from your forum. If I want to add additional contents to my question for further clarity to the responder, how is that done without asking a new question on the forum.

If I understand your question correctly, you'd need to be registered to be able to edit your post and add additional info to it.

But that might not be a good idea, anyway. people responding to the original post plus responses to the edited post could lead to confusion. You could certainly add the new info as a subsequent post in the same thread.

Guest, you cannot "edit" a post as a guest, although members are able to do so.  We don't recommend that process for adding new information more than a few minutes after the post is made, however, because people  start reading posts immediately.

If you want to provide additional information or clarify a point or ask a follow up question on the same subject, just simply make a follow up post in the same thread, like I am doing here.  If you read many posts in here, you will see that many threads have a back and forth with the original poster as we ask questions, the original poster provides more information, asks follow up questions, and we provide additional answers.

Just make a new post in the same thread if it is directly related to your initial post.  If it is not related, then start a new thread.
