Guest Todd Speece Posted July 18, 2016 at 08:18 PM Report Share Posted July 18, 2016 at 08:18 PM It is my understanding that a meeting can be held with a number less than a quorum if no one actually calls for a quorum. Is this true?
George Mervosh Posted July 18, 2016 at 08:20 PM Report Share Posted July 18, 2016 at 08:20 PM You mean just because no one raised point of order, everything is legit? No, you can't ignore the quorum requirement. But the meeting can be called to order, and after noting no quorum is present, it can adjourn and it counts as fulfilling any meeting holding requirement your bylaws may have. Transpower Posted July 19, 2016 at 01:34 PM Report Share Posted July 19, 2016 at 01:34 PM If no quorum is present, the attendees should first call the non-attendees to see if any of them can come in so that the quorum can be met.
