If the vice-president was presiding in the absence of the president and a motion was adopted that the president appoint a committee, should the vice-president be the one to appoint the committee or should the assembly wait for the return of the president?

Since the motion that was adopted provided that the president is to appoint the committee, then the president, and not the vice-president, must do so.

If the motion had provided that the committee be appointed by the chair, then the appointment would be made by the vice-president, since he was presiding at the time.

If the motion does not provide any other information, what would be the procedure for the president appointing the committee. Would the appointment be made under unfinished business at the next regular meeting where the president was back in office or at some other time?
