motions pass or fail

There are six Board members voting on a motion, and the outcome is a 3-3 tie, This means the motion fails for lack of a majority, correct?

The motion is not in limbo because of a tie vote? Can this motion be brought back at the next meeting, and motioned again? Thanks.

If the presiding member states the vote is a 3-3 tie, does that imply the motion failed, or should a point of order be brought up. He doesn't want to say "motion fails".

The motion failed.  Period. He should make an announcement that the motion failed.  No point of order needed.  A motion fails on a tie vote.  And it's not an implication.  It's a fact.  He needs to do his job and announce that the motion failed.   Otherwise, people may be hanging in limbo, wondering what the status is, as I suspect is actually happening.

He wants to bring it up at every meeting until it passes, I guess.

Guest afv, we have already answered this question for you.  Was this post a mistake?
