Fergusgw Posted June 3, 2017 at 12:59 AM Report Share Posted June 3, 2017 at 12:59 AM In my church constitution the BY-LAWS it states "The Deaconess Ministry is composed of women who, from their own Christian Testomy, acceptance by the church, personal spiritual zeal, scriptural knowledge, and good work in missions and stewardship, become eligible for service in the Diaconate. Deaconesses are appointed by the pastor, upon recommendation and approval by the congregation". with the last line saying upon recommendation and approval by the congregation, I say this takes a vote for approval. I have had some individuals that says no vote is needed but the way I understand approval, this means a vote. Help!
Alexis Hunt Posted June 3, 2017 at 02:26 AM Report Share Posted June 3, 2017 at 02:26 AM While bylaws interpretation is ultimately up to your congregation (by vote), I would tend to agree that approval means a vote is required.
