Can an Ex Officio Member of a professional body stand for elections

The constitution of my body requires the immediate past secretary general to be an ex officio of the council of the body. This is a position I have held for almost two years now. I intend to run for the office of Vice President but if the current Secretary general also runs for a second term and he wins and i also win. then it means I will still be the immediate past secretary general and vice president. Is that in order.

No rule in RONR prevents a member from holding more than one position.
