Chris Harrison Posted June 3, 2010 at 10:17 PM Report Share Posted June 3, 2010 at 10:17 PM Any member present can vote at the 2nd election. However, who says that the election was illegal and why?
Kim Goldsworthy Posted June 4, 2010 at 12:33 AM Report Share Posted June 4, 2010 at 12:33 AM Who can vote at the next election? Is it only the members that had voted at the first election?Whoever is a member at the moment the vote is taken, may vote. This implies that people who signed up and paid dues 5 minutes before the ballot box is open for deposits, can vote.Put another way:• Whoever voted yesterday, last week, last month, is irrelevant.• You don't get to to vote tomorrow just because you got to vote yesterday. Ask them to show you the rule.
Josh Martin Posted June 5, 2010 at 11:02 PM Report Share Posted June 5, 2010 at 11:02 PM Nothing in RONR supports this. Ask them to show you the rule.I would also note that even if there is such a rule in the organization's Bylaws, "members of the executive directors" have no authority to invalidate an election by the general membership. Such a ruling could only take place at a meeting of the general membership, and would be subject to appeal.
