New office secretary

Recently our secertary retired and a new one was hired. It was narrowed to three applicants,but before the BOD had any input the President hire one of the applicants. The explenation is she is the President and it's her decision. Is this a proper procdure? mrart

You'll have to check your bylaws to see if your president has the authority to hire secretaries.

You should ask the president to show you where it says that she has that authority. She should quote the bylaws or a resolution from the assembly.
