Guest Judy Franklin Posted May 16, 2017 at 01:30 PM Report Share Posted May 16, 2017 at 01:30 PM My club recently experienced the unexpected death of its newly elected President. I know that the vice-president will fill her unexpired term but how do we fill the office of Vice-president? Do we need a special election, or can the executive committee appoint a new vice-president. Our by-laws do not address this question. Thank you. Do your bylaws authorize the Executive Committee to act in the name of the society between the society's meetings? If so, this includes the power to fill vacancies. If not, the membership must fill the vacancy.
