We are about to hold our AGM.  The question is - we have 5 vacancies on our board of directors.   Our bylaws require us to hold a ballot vote to elect directors, however, if we have five or fewer nominations, do we still need to hold the ballot?  Thank you.

"When the bylaws require a vote to be taken by ballot, this requirement cannot be suspended, even by a unanimous vote."  (RONR, 11th ed., p. 412)
