Guest Erin Seaman Posted January 2, 2018 at 04:27 PM Report Share Posted January 2, 2018 at 04:27 PM My understanding is that a motion to adjourn is a "privileged" motion, and as such requires a second, but... Is it necessary to second a motion to adjourn a meeting if all items on the agenda have been addressed and there is no further business before the committee? Weldon Merritt Posted January 2, 2018 at 05:17 PM Report Share Posted January 2, 2018 at 05:17 PM It's not even necessary to make a motion to adjourn "if all items on the agenda have been addressed and there is no further business before the committee." The only time a motion to adjourn is really necessary is if a member wants to adjourn before the business is finished (or before a pre-schedueld time for adjournment is reached).
