Tentatively Approved Agenda Item

At our last BOE meeting, our Board tentatively approved an agenda item to change a policy.  Now we would like to remove that agenda item for consideration because we want to discuss it further with our administrators before it goes before the full Board for final approval at the next meeting.  Can we just not include the final approval agenda item on the next agenda or do we have to list it on the agenda and ask the Board to consider deleting it before they approve that agenda?

Does "BOE" refer to a Board of Education? If so, and if it is considered a public body under the law, your agenda procedures may well be controlled by state law, local ordinance, or your own special Rules of Order. All of those would supersede RONR.
