cwosniggih Posted June 8, 2010 at 03:26 PM Report Share Posted June 8, 2010 at 03:26 PM Following annual meeting of membership to elect directors, a meeting was held to elect officers. By-laws stipulate officers hold office for one year term and must be nominated and elected each year to retain office. This being the case at the beginning of the meeting there are no officers till nominated and elected. Who calls the meeting to order, and conducts the meeting till officers are elected? Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help.Your bylaws may say that the old officers serve until replaced, or something to that effect. If there is not any presiding officer present at the beginning of the meeting, someone should call the meeting to order and conduct a quick election of a temporary chairman. That chair pro tempore will preside until you do have a regular presiding officer.
