jstackpo Posted June 11, 2010 at 03:56 PM Report Share Posted June 11, 2010 at 03:56 PM Yeah... but ... you shouldn't be "accepting" the treasurer's report AT ALL in the first place.See p. 460-461.The only (related) report that you DO move to accept is that of the audit committee, presumably on an annual basis. Josh Martin Posted June 13, 2010 at 02:42 AM Report Share Posted June 13, 2010 at 02:42 AM Is it allowable for a board treasurer to make a motion to accept the treasurer's report which was prepared and presented by the board treasurer?Motions to adopt recommendations from an officer should be made by a member other than the reporting officer, although ultimately the officer does have the right to make the motion. (RONR, 10th ed., pg. 459, lines 22-24; pg. 255, lines 22-28) However, in this case the situation should not arise. If this is a report other than the annual report it is for information only and no motion to accept should be made. (RONR, 10th ed., pg. 459, line 30) If it is the annual report, then the chair should state the question without waiting for a formal motion, or submit it for audit if it has not yet been audited. (RONR, 10th ed., pg. 462, lines 14-17, lines 21-31)
