Guest Ron Posted July 13, 2010 at 03:24 PM Report Share Posted July 13, 2010 at 03:24 PM The board chair of our non-profit is responsible for creating a committee list - a list of committee assignments for our families who are required to do put in volunteer hours on various tasks. That committee list is required to be approved by the board of directors. If the board chair creates the list and presents it to the board, does the presentation count as the motion to approve? Or does the board chair require board members to make a motion to approve and another to second?
George Mervosh Posted July 13, 2010 at 03:29 PM Report Share Posted July 13, 2010 at 03:29 PM If his recommendations are part of his officer's report someone else should make the motion, though in a smaller board he can simply move to adopt his recommendation himself.
