If the chair does not follow the rules, are actions taken null and void? The only actions that are null and void are ones an assembly takes in violation of its bylaws and other rules and principles.. See RONR (11th ed.), p. 251 If the chair is not presiding properly he can be removed from the chair, and ultimately from office.
