Okay. In that event, the board is also the body which has the power to accept the resignation.

Also... why is this question being asked anyway? Is it because there is simply a lag in time until the board can meet and accept the resignations? Or is the board actually considering refusing to accept the resignations? If so, why?

Board is divded and just curious to know what is the next step if they donot accept. Thanks Josh.

So you need to check your bylaws to see what are the powers of your board to determine whether your board is empowered to accept the resignation and fill the resulting vacancy or whether you need to wait for a general meeting.

Thanks Atul. Yes our board is empowered to accept resignatons and fill the vacancies

  3. In our 16 members  of baord of trustess 6 trustees resigned. Our bylaws does say anything about resignations how to accept or not. My questions is if the board is not accpeting the resignations what will happen? Do they continue? if so how long? Thanks in advance

  4. Ours is a not for profit organization. Our  board contains 16 trustees.  There is nothing mentioned in our bylaws  about when do one can add an agenda item for the monthly  board meetings. I wonder what is the general rule or procedure for adding an agenda item and how many days in advance we can do that. Thanks in advance

  5. Our not for profit organization has the following provisions :

    1. The Chairperson of CPP ( Council of Past Presidents) shall be an ex‐officio member of the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee without voting privileges.

    2. The Chairperson of the Council shall present a report to the General Body at its annual meeting or duly called special meeting.

My question is whether CPP chair participate in the discussions and give advises on bylaws and constitution issues even though he is an ex officio member?

  6. Our not for profit organization recently passed a resolution in the board to reopen the temple on May 11th 2020  for public after our Illinois Governor relaxed lock down conditions  . Here is the wording of resolution " to open the temple to devotees for a minimum of 4  four hours starting May 11, 2020 without violating the Governor’s guidelines."  But our president sent a note to all trustees the temple opening is delayed and the temple was not opened for public on May 11th.  My question is  to open temple on a different date do we need a new resolution? Thanks in Advance
