Our by-laws state the following "Nominations for candidates to the Board will be accepted at the May Board meeting which will be open to all members in good standing. The nominee must have a second, and must be present to accept the nomination." My question is at our meeting on Saturday, a current member of the board who is is up for re-election, was not present, he submitted a letter. We referred to our by-law and we were told that the by-law did not apply to current board members. They are allowed to submit a letter if they can't be at the meeting.
