Guest posted a topic in General DiscussionWe hold both our general meeting and board meeting on the same date. The board meeting directly following the general meeting. Our president was out of town on our last meeting date. She did not leave an agenda for either meeting. The vice president presided over the general meeting having put together an agenda with 2 other Board members. They also went ahead and had the board meeting without the knowledge of the president. They created an agenda and the president was not apprised of any of the topics for discussion. Are they allowed to do that? It seems wrong to me.
In an assembly meeting a member makes a motion to go into executive session. I understand that the contents of the executive session are private. However, if voting in executive session, our body has always made the outcome public, but not the vote count. I cannot find anything in RR stating whether the vote should or should not be released. Can anyone shed some light on this situation? Or does anyone have the exact info from the 11 ed. from RR?
Constitution states: Minutes of all Executive Committee meetings, including teleconferences, shall be kept and promptly promulgated to the Association members within 30 days of the meeting. So if a vote is caried out in Executive Session, do the members have the right to see the passing of that vote in the promulgated minutes?
Are members of a board of a club who participate in an executive session meeting held to a standard regarding the confidentiality of the discussion in executive session? If a board member reveals to an outside party details of a discussion held in executive session, what remedies are available to the board/organization?
