CLEARVIEW Posted April 28, 2011 at 01:31 PM Report Share Posted April 28, 2011 at 01:31 PM In an election, if one candidate does not receive majority (51%) what is the protocol according to RR? Some are saying that the position should be reopened for nominations. Is this correct? Also, should there be a run-off between the two highest vote getters or all candidates?Any clarification would be appreciated. George Mervosh Posted April 28, 2011 at 01:45 PM Report Share Posted April 28, 2011 at 01:45 PM A majority is more than half, not 51%, but all candidates stay on the ballot, and the assembly may re-open nominations if they choose to (by majority vote, without debate).Just keep voting.
