Same person elected 2 offices

What happens if the same person is elected to two different offices (one for Pres and one for VP). Which office does he/she take and why?

She should choose the one she wants. Then you'll need to hold another election for the other office.

And although RONR does not prohibit one person from holding more than one office (e.g. secretary and treasurer), it would not be a good idea for the same person to be both president and vice-president.

True. In addition, the functions of the office of vice-president essentially preclude the same person holding both the office of president and VP, since the function of VP is to preside in teh absence of teh president and to become president shold that office become vacant.

Further, the offices of president and secretary should be seen as necessarily separate since it is nearly impossible to both do a good job of moderating a meeting and taking accurate minutes at the same time.

Secretary/treaturer on the other hand is very doable and many organizations function that way.
