Guest toni byrnes Posted May 26, 2011 at 04:36 PM Report Share Posted May 26, 2011 at 04:36 PM Revisiting our bylaws, One member company owns several like companies, it is becoming a pattern in the industry. We would like to have One vote for the holding company not one for each company, although each company could belong to association. Where in book or where can we find language ? Toni Byrnes - toniabyrnes@aol.com
Josh Martin Posted May 26, 2011 at 04:52 PM Report Share Posted May 26, 2011 at 04:52 PM Where in book or where can we find language ?You will not find such language in RONR. Under RONR, one member is one person. You should consult a professional parliamentarian for assistance.
Chris Harrison Posted May 26, 2011 at 04:54 PM Report Share Posted May 26, 2011 at 04:54 PM RONR will not suggest language for you. I would recommend you contact any other organization which has the same set-up to see if they can suggest any language for you.
Rev Ed Posted May 26, 2011 at 06:27 PM Report Share Posted May 26, 2011 at 06:27 PM And it all depends on how you become a member of the association. If there are shares, then it will likely be one vote per share and members will likely not support a change to this. However, if there are only members, then it would be one member one vote.
