Guest ol'dad Posted June 2, 2011 at 05:14 PM Report Share Posted June 2, 2011 at 05:14 PM Our Homeowners Ass. recently held an election for one 1 new director. I'm pretty sure that nominations are debatable. The presiding officer did not offer debate to the membership, is there any recourse 2weeks after the election? Thanks
jstackpo Posted June 2, 2011 at 05:25 PM Report Share Posted June 2, 2011 at 05:25 PM No. The time to insist on your rights is at the time when they need to be exercised. You are correct about debate, or more strictly, the merits of the nominated candidates are debatable. The holding of nominations itself isn't. Gary Novosielski Posted June 2, 2011 at 09:01 PM Report Share Posted June 2, 2011 at 09:01 PM ...is there any recourse 2weeks after the election?About as much as debating whether the barn door should be closed after the horse has been gone for two weeks. Tim Wynn Posted June 2, 2011 at 09:09 PM Report Share Posted June 2, 2011 at 09:09 PM About as much as debating whether the barn door should be closed after the horse has been gone for two weeks. No, it shouldn't. In my experience, the horse will come back on his own and need to be able to get back in... though I can't imagine what he's been doing for two weeks... perhaps, barrel racing.
