Mitchell Posted June 10, 2011 at 04:19 PM Report Share Posted June 10, 2011 at 04:19 PM The constitution of my organization allows for the chartering of clubs, which are essentially local chapters of the organization. The intention is for the clubs to operate semi-autonomously from us, although we will still have final authority over them. I am wondering how we go about creating these clubs.Looking online, I see how some charters for local groups/chapters/clubs essentially establish the club, while others are a sort of contract between the chartering organization and the club. I am wondering which of these ways is preferred by RONR. Does our organization adopt a charter which establishes the club (and then the club has its own meeting at which it adopts a constitution/bylaws) or does the club hold a founding meeting at which it adopts a constitution and then we create a charter which acts as a contract? Thanks in advance,Mitchell
Gary c Tesser Posted June 10, 2011 at 05:21 PM Report Share Posted June 10, 2011 at 05:21 PM I'm gonna get the ball rolling by saying I don't think RONR has a preference. MItchell, have yuo read Section 54, and maybe 55?-- And the bottom half of p. 550 might be helpful.[Edited after thumbing and riffling.]
