wwdslovene Posted June 23, 2011 at 08:37 PM Report Share Posted June 23, 2011 at 08:37 PM Our Board is preparing to call a special meeting to remove a member of the Board. I understand that such person can attend the "trial" (with proper notice, etc.) and reply to charges leveled to justify removal. When the discussion ends and a ballot vote is taken, can the person whom we are seeking to remove vote?
jstackpo Posted June 23, 2011 at 10:42 PM Report Share Posted June 23, 2011 at 10:42 PM RONR P. 637 & 639 appears to say "No, he cannot vote on his own removal" - he has had to leave the room. But this assumes you are following the "removal recipe" found in Chapter 20. If you have different removal rules in your bylaws, the situation could be different.
