Chris Harrison Posted July 5, 2011 at 08:44 PM Report Share Posted July 5, 2011 at 08:44 PM How many times must By-Law proposed changes be presented to the membership As often as the bylaws require.and do we need to vote on each individual change or can it be voted on in a block? You all can decide to do it either way assuming that all the changes are related to each other (for example a member can demand that an amendment concerning limiting the number of members in the organization be considered separately from one changing the dues). Check you bylaws for the requirements of amending them, which must be followed. If your bylaws contain no provision on their amendment, they can be amended at any business meeting of the organization by a two-thirds vote with notice; alternatively, they can be amended at any regular meeting by a vote of a majority of the entire membership, without notice. See RONR(10th ed.), p. 562, l. 13-18.
