bylaws permit removal without cause so is debate germane?

Our bylaws permit a director to be removed by the board without cause. I would reckon this would involve somebody making a motion to rescind election and this is a debatable motion but is debate germane under the circumstances (no cause needed)?

Well, if a motion is made to rescind a director's election (a motion "that John Doe be removed from the office of Director" might be better), any debate concerning the question as to whether or not his election should be rescinded (or any debate concerning the question as to whether or not he should be removed from office) will certainly be germane.

I'd say Dan got this one right. ;)

Thank you, Dan.
