Guest DGP Posted July 20, 2011 at 06:52 PM Report Share Posted July 20, 2011 at 06:52 PM In order to endorse a candidate, the treasurer in my case, a roll call vote is required. If no nominee receives the vote of the majority who are present and voting then subsequent roll calls are required until a nominee receives the majority. If we know a deadlock is imminent and subsequent roll calls will not change the outcome, are their other alternatives to remedy the deadlock? Also, would it be proper to postpone the endorsement to a different date?
Robert B Fish Posted July 20, 2011 at 06:55 PM Report Share Posted July 20, 2011 at 06:55 PM You are required to keep voting and you are NOT ALLOWED to drop the candidate with lowest number of votes unless your bylaws says you can do that.If you vote a good number of times without resolving the incomplete election, you might vote to set an aqdjourned meeting and then adjourn.-Bob
