Motions at officers meeting

If the duly elected officers make a motion to bring a matter to consideration before the general membership, but prior to the general membership meeting the point becomes moot, must it be presented to the membership simply because the motion was in the minutes of the officers meeting?

No, if I understand the circumstances.

In general, it violates a parliamentary principle to make a motion which is meaningless, or which presents a proposition which cannot be adopted.

But it is a fine line. I can imagine a scenario where it is moot to you and your buddies, but NOT moot to the other officers.

Like, perhaps one or two officers change their minds. -- They want to accomplish the end of making the issue pertinent.
