Guest Julie Posted October 27, 2011 at 01:40 PM Report Share Posted October 27, 2011 at 01:40 PM When an organization only meets 2 times a year, once in September and once in May, where the last meetings minutes do not get approved until the following meeting, must we wait until the meetings minutes are approved to post them on online, or are we able legally to post a draft of the minutes for review prior to the next meeting, with a disclaimer that states these are just for review only and have yet to be approved? Appoint a committee (or authorize your board if you have one) to approve the minutes in a more timely manner.
jstackpo Posted October 27, 2011 at 01:52 PM Report Share Posted October 27, 2011 at 01:52 PM And the "Minutes Approval Committee" should also be authorized to correct the minutes, if it suits them to do so.If the committee goes astray, the approved minutes can always be re-corrected at any later meeting -- RONR, p. 475. But we probably would. And we're not. So there. But you have the right idea about putting a notation such as - D R A F T - at the top and bottom, or something else that would indicate they were not yet approved. That will save you trouble.
