Vote to terminate member

What is the vote, majority or 2/3 for a body to terminate a person's membership from an organization? The appeal process that is in our organization for appealing a termination of membership and this is the final appeal. How many votes do we have to have?

If the bylaws are actually silent on the vote, how do we know there is one?

If the procedures in RONR were being followed there would ultimately be a 2/3 vote required to expel a member, but the procedures in RONR are not being followed in this situation.

You need to read the exact language in your bylaws that apply to this purported vote, and see what they say.

I feel this statement deserves clarification. The fact that the procedures in RONR are not being followed does not make anything invalid here, as the rules in your bylaws supersede those in RONR.

Isn't it somewhere in RR that says a right or privilege can only be taken away by a 2/3 vote?

No. In the disciplinary procedures in RONR, a majority vote is sufficient to impose any punishment short of expulsion (which requires a 2/3 vote). But as noted, the procedures in your Bylaws supersede RONR.
