Guest MOBYZORRO Posted November 15, 2011 at 05:12 AM Report Share Posted November 15, 2011 at 05:12 AM The book says the names of Seconds to motions should not be in the minutes unless "ordered by the assembly". Is such an order put forth as a motion at each motion? or as standing rules for the meeting? or as a permanent rule in the Bylaws. Our group will not like it when I point out that we've been doing it wrong, and they will want to continue "doing it the way we always have before". But you can simply follow your established custom since there's no rule in RONR against including the name of the seconder in the minutes.

Please see page 470 line 26One could (quite persuasively, I hope) argue that approval of minutes including the name of seconds constitutes and order that they be so entered.
