Bzzldy Posted November 15, 2011 at 07:44 PM Report Share Posted November 15, 2011 at 07:44 PM Our unit made a motion, seconded and voted unanimously to approve the purchase of a tape recorder with unit funds to be used to assist our recorder in preparing the minutes. She does not use it as a transcription for the minutes themselves.Recently, another unit inquired about doing the same with the Local business office. The newly elected Business Manager told her it was not allowed. He would also be putting an end to this with our unit too.My question is can a Business Manager overide what a membership has approved in its minutes. I've checked the by-laws and there are no rules. Guest Edgar Posted November 15, 2011 at 07:50 PM Report Share Posted November 15, 2011 at 07:50 PM The newly elected Business Manager told her it was not allowed.Ask him to show you the rule. He won't find it in RONR. Nor will he find a rule there that authorizes him to do anything at all.
