Nominations

At our last meeting we open the floor for nominations and after 3 calls the nomination for that office was closed. We have elections coming up in December and question is: Ballots have been prepared from the nominations in November. Can a motion be made to open nominations up again before the election?

No, in fact no nominations of any kind are "mandatory". You can just pass out blank papers and vote for whomever you want.

But if your bylaws provide for a nominating committee, and don't prohibit nominations from the floor, then the chair should call for additional nominations after the committee's report is given.

And if not prohibited by your bylaws nominations can be opened by a motion, seconded, and a majority vote.

Are nominations from the floor mandatory per RONR?

It depends on the method of nominations used (if any). If nominations from the floor is the method of nominations, then it is certainly required. It is also required if the initial nominations are made by a committee. But in either case, it seems the requirement has already been satisfied (although, as noted, nominations may be reopened by majority vote).
