Watson Posted February 18, 2012 at 12:01 AM Report Share Posted February 18, 2012 at 12:01 AM My City has a Mayor / Common Council form of government. If a City employee is ex officio a member of a board created by the municipal code, is that employee under the authority of the Common Council, or the City?Reference: [RONR, (11th ed.), p. 483, ll. 26-30]
J. J. Posted February 18, 2012 at 12:30 AM Report Share Posted February 18, 2012 at 12:30 AM I actually think this is probably a legal question.
Guest Nancy N. Posted February 18, 2012 at 12:26 PM Report Share Posted February 18, 2012 at 12:26 PM I'm pretty sure it's not an RONR question. I get this because I have some familiarity with RONR but I have no clue as to where to begin in answering it.RTW, you got some basic info on how this setup works, maybe a URL link? I hear over the Internet that the website's Room Monitors are off in Omaha quaffing margaritas all weekend, so we here back East can get away with meandering for a bit. For instance I'd like to talk about what I'm reading lately (The Federalist Papers, Shogun, and What's Wrong With Islam -- first edition), but ordinarily I"d get told go somewhere else. So A link to an article about Mayor/ Council citygovernment wouldn't be much of a stretch.
