Guest Edgar Posted February 18, 2012 at 02:28 AM Report Share Posted February 18, 2012 at 02:28 AM Need help finding out if a non executive board member can also take the minutes when there is a secretary? Can they also keep the minutes for their own personal use? PLEASE HELP!!If the board allows you to attend its meetings (and it doesn't have to), it may also restrict your activities at the meeting (such as note-taking). Though you're free to jot down as much as you can remember once the meeting is over. But they'll never be the minutes (unless they're submitted and approved by the board at the next meeting). Larry Cisar Posted February 18, 2012 at 06:28 AM Report Share Posted February 18, 2012 at 06:28 AM With modern technology, it is almost impossible to prevent somebody from keeping their own notes. But, as said above, these are not the minutes of the organization.
