Guest carjar95 Posted February 18, 2012 at 02:11 AM Report Share Posted February 18, 2012 at 02:11 AM We are looking to amend our bylaws. Part of the bylaws are fine and don't need any amending, however, there are spelling errors ie: liukablty should be liability; for dale should be for sale: ot should mean lot. If you are doing corrections in spelling can you just state: Item 4 c which reads liukablty shall be amended to read liability? I am confused on how to deal with a spelling error. Guest Edgar Posted February 18, 2012 at 02:23 AM Report Share Posted February 18, 2012 at 02:23 AM I am confused on how to deal with a spelling error. Are you referring to errors in a copy of the bylaws? If so, corrections can be made without any motions at all. Just fix the copy.Or are the minutes of the meetings where the bylaws were adopted (and amended) incorrect? If so, you may need to formally amend the bylaws (again) to make any necessary changes. But don't confuse copies of the bylaws with the bylaws themselves. The map is not the territory.
