If a motion has been tabled at a regular meeting, and another meeting is called as a "continuation" of the previous meeting, can the "tabled motion" be untabled, or must the tabled motion be untabled at subsequent regular meeting?

How is a previously tabled motion brought before the body?

What do you mean by another meeting is called as a "continuation" of the previous meeting? If this upcoming meeting was not established as an adjourned meeting at the previous meeting, then I'd have to say I know of no procedure within RONR that allows a "new" meeting to be called as a "continuation" of a previous meeting. If this "continuation" meeting is in fact an adjourned meeting of the previous meeting, then see post #2.

If this upcoming meeting is in fact a "called" meeting (that is, it is not provided for in the bylaws, or by previous resolution) than it sure has all the earmarks of a Special Meeting, which can only be held if your bylaws authorize them. Otherwise, you can't hold a Special Meeting.

The thing is, you can't take a motion from the table at a special meeting unless 1) it was laid on the table at that meeting, or 2) the notice of the special meeting includes the taking of the motion from the table.

So, what's really behind all this "calling" a "continuation" meeting?
