Getting a auditor for the book

The authority to do anything is vested in the assembly of the society, unless the bylaws or the assembly directs otherwise.

Check the bylaws to see what power the president has. RONR doesn't give say, "that is her power, as president, to find an auditor." Ask her to show you where this is written.

She is also telling the Treasurer he doesn't need to be president.

If this is "present," I'm not sure what she's saying. Present for what? For the selection of an auditor? For the actual auditing process? RONR doesn't require or prohibit any of this. It will be up to your organization to decide.
