Guest Guest Posted March 3, 2012 at 09:54 PM Report Share Posted March 3, 2012 at 09:54 PM At our last board meeting raises were discussed in an executive session and then voted on when the meeting reconvened. Do the actual amounts need to be included in the minutes, or is approval of raises without stating the actual amounts enough? Thank you.
George Mervosh Posted March 3, 2012 at 10:03 PM Report Share Posted March 3, 2012 at 10:03 PM The exact wording the chair uses in putting the question to a vote is definitive, and the wording in the minutes should be the same. So you tell us.
Guest Edgar Posted March 3, 2012 at 10:10 PM Report Share Posted March 3, 2012 at 10:10 PM At our last board meeting raises were discussed in an executive session and then voted on when the meeting reconvened. Do the actual amounts need to be included in the minutes, or is approval of raises without stating the actual amounts enough? The exact language of the motion to change the salary must be included in the minutes. You can keep the minutes of the executive session separate from the other minutes but the membership will have access to both sets of minutes. That's the plain-vanilla RONR answer. Questions involving employees may be subject to other rules and laws which are beyond the scope of this forum.Note, too, that there is no requirement in RONR that an assembly leave executive session in order to vote . . . but your rules may vary.
