Passing Notes in a Meeting

Is there anything in RONR that pertains to members of the Board passing notes to one another during a meeting in order to not disturb a speaker? Some feel it is rude and one felt the Pres. should be privy to any notes passed around.

RONR is silent on this matter. And as long as your note-passers are silent about it too and don't disturb anyone else, no problem. RONR does say "Do Not Disturb", p. 394, but very quietly.

Indeed, some (big) conventions I have been to have multiple ushers whose job is to tote messages back and forth, and not just to the Chair.
