Guest CHRISTINE Posted March 8, 2012 at 03:46 PM Report Share Posted March 8, 2012 at 03:46 PM THEN BASED ON THE OUTCOME OF THE ELECTIONS (IF HE LOSES) CAN RETAIN HIS POSITION AS TRUSTEE?
Trina Posted March 8, 2012 at 03:59 PM Report Share Posted March 8, 2012 at 03:59 PM RONR does not prevent a trustee from running for treasurer, nor does RONR have rules against one person holding multiple positions simultaneously (with a few exceptions, which don't seem to apply to this situation). Any such restrictions would have to come from your own rules.

Trina Posted March 8, 2012 at 09:43 PM Report Share Posted March 8, 2012 at 09:43 PM Now you have everyone curious as to what those exceptions might be. I only meant the recommendation (based on practicality, and somewhat on RONR (11th ed.) p. 447 ll. 3-5) that the same person should not be presiding officer and secretary simultaneously (not relevant to the poster's question). I guess it would have been better to leave out the parenthetical comment, as it's more likely to confuse than to clarify.

Again, it's not relevant to the original poster's question, and I regret mentioning it. However, dollars to donuts, if I hadn't mentioned it, someone else would have dragged it in anyway .
