Guest Mike Posted March 9, 2012 at 04:33 PM Report Share Posted March 9, 2012 at 04:33 PM What is the correct prodcedure for accepting nominations from the floor after a slate of officers has been recommended and presented by a nominations commitee? Should the members be asked after each position is nominated, or after the entire slate has been presented? Our bylaws do not appear to address this. jstackpo Posted March 9, 2012 at 07:00 PM Report Share Posted March 9, 2012 at 07:00 PM Actually both...The president - sort of repeating the NomCom report - announces "The Committee has nominated XXX for President. Are there any further nominations for the office of President? [Pause and repeat until no further presidential nominations are made.]Then same sequence for the other positions. Finally, "Are there any (further) nominations for any of the officers?" [Pause]"Hearing none, we will now vote. Will the tellers please pass out (or whatever) the ballots..."
